An Iconic New Zealand Winery
Trinity Hill Winery has been growing grapes in the Hawke’s Bay province of New Zealand since 1993. Hawke’s Bay is the oldest grape growing region in New Zealand with a heritage that goes back to the 19th century when some of the first settlers of the area first recognised the fantastic conditions available in the province to grow grapes. Being the warmest grape growing province makes it the capital of red wine production in New Zealand. The focus in the area is the varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that have been made famous in the French region of Bordeaux.
The owners of Trinity Hill selected the Hawke’s Bay to make their premium wines due to the established pedigree of the area. Robert and Robyn Wilson own extremely successful restaurants in London and established Trinity Hill after a chance meeting with charismatic winemaker John Hancock. Together they shared a dream to farm grapes to create truly great wines. These would be served in the best restaurants of the world, such as their own, as well as matured in the finest cellar collections next to other icon wines of the world. Now firmly established as one of the top wineries of the province they are known for their high quality red wines using those varieties unique within New Zealand to the Hawke’s Bay.
